Configure is where you tell the AI Watcher what to watch for and how to process the stream. Set everything up before starting your first capture.

Watcher Instructions

Describe what the AI should monitor in the live stream. Be specific about the event, the format, and any constraints. Here are some examples:
  • “Watch this soccer stream and flag every goal, assist, and key defensive moment. Log a timestamp and a short description for each.”
  • “Alert me every time a speaker mentions pricing or contract terms.”
  • “Maintain a running summary of the stream, updating after each chunk.”

Chunk Duration and Overlap

Flowstate analyzes a live stream by breaking the feed into short segments called chunks, processing them one by one as they arrive. This is what allows you to get results in real time rather than waiting for the stream to end. Two settings control how this works:

  • Chunk Duration: How long each chunk is before the Watcher analyzes it. Shorter chunks (30 seconds to 1 minute) give faster results, ideal for real-time alerts and live sports. Longer chunks (3 to 5 minutes) give the AI more context, better for summaries and thematic analysis. The default is 1 minute, which works well for most streams.
  • Overlap Duration: How much each chunk overlaps with the next. This ensures events at a chunk boundary are not missed. The default is 10 seconds.

Advanced: Capture Mode

Most streams work fine on Standard. Switch to Ad-resilient if your stream runs mid-roll ads, such as broadcast sports or ad-supported news channels, so Flowstate keeps recording through the breaks without losing content.
  • Standard (recommended): Works for most streams.
  • Ad-resilient: Keeps the capture running through mid-roll ad breaks.

Analysis Add-ons

Three optional add-ons run alongside your Watcher Instructions. Each reveals its own prompt field when enabled. The default prompt is pre-filled but can be edited to match your use case.
Image
  • Maintain Continuous Summary: Watches each chunk and updates a running summary of the whole stream. Useful for long sessions such as games or live events.
  • Create Interesting Clips Per Chunk: Extracts short sample clips from each chunk with a description. Clips are downloadable directly from the chunk view in the Capture tab.
  • Compute Alert Events: Notifies you when something specific happens in the stream. Write a prompt describing what to watch for, such as “alert when a goal is scored” or “flag every mention of pricing,” and the AI Watcher surfaces those moments as they occur. Alerts can also be delivered to your team on a set schedule via Slack, Microsoft Teams, or email. Two settings control how this works:
    • Digest every X min: How often Flowstate sends a digest of new alerts.
    • Min Confidence: The minimum confidence threshold an event must reach before it is included.
Once your configuration is saved, you are ready to start your first Capture session.
